The 2022 Northern Beaches Jiu-Jitsu Camp was epic!

From 1 to 4 September 2022, over 80 people gathered on the Northern Beaches from all over the East Coast of Australia for 4 days of action packed Jits and a whole lot more. We absolutely loved hosting this event, and can't thank everyone enough for coming along and making it such a fantastic few days.

A huge thank you goes to Phil Grapsas from Leverage Jiu Jitsu Academy and John Smallios from Higher Jiu Jitsu for helping to bring the camp to life, and sharing so much invaluable knowledge both on and off the mats. Special thanks also goes to black belts Cam Sobes and Nic Matthews for running such incredible seminars too!

IN NUMBERS: Over the 4 days:

• 12 hours of seminars were held with black belts Phil Grapsas, Cam Sobes, John Smallios, Nic Matthews and Jack Cox (+ countless extra hours of open mat!)

• 8 new blue belts were earned

• 2 new purple belts were earned

• 20 pizzas were consumed (in 30 minutes)

• 360 degree views were enjoyed the from Barrenjoey Lighthouse and Avalon Headland

• 500+ axes were thrown (thanks Kiss My Axe!)

• 100 coffees + bacon egg rolls were inhaled (at least)

• 1 or 2 pale ales were sunk at 4 Pines Truck Bar

...and most importantly, countless years of experience was shared between people from all walks of life who all share a love for Jiu-Jitsu.
